I have progress bar shortcodes in my custom fields that are imported in from a CSV. Then I was use [[field]] in the label form on the preview card section to feed the shortcode through.
In my “listing feed” sections this works perfectly, but it is broken in the explore section. Instead eif the shortcodes result, preview cards in the explore section just show the text string of the shortcode.
Placing the shortcode directly in to the label form (instead of drawing the shortcode from the [[field]]) does work fine, but that doesn’t help because then it’s a static shortcode, whereas I need it to draw the shortcodes dynamically from custom Fields from each listing.
What’s the problem? Why does this work on other sections but not explore? There must be something in the PHP of explore that is breaking shortcodes or disallowing them. I was so happy to get it to work on the listings feed, but now that I saw that it doesn’t show right on the explore page I’m stuck.
add_filter( 'widget_text', 'do_shortcode' ); to functions.php of the child theme but it doesn’t fix it, and I also came across
$output_text = do_shortcode(); echo $output_text; but don’t know where to put that to see if it helps.
