I have added several listing taxanomies and I think this is a great feature of your theme!
However, when I add a custom taxonomy with parent and child items, the parent item is not part of the URL.
For example, I have created the following custom taxonomy “Salary”.
Salary has two parent items “Euro” and “US-Dollar” and each has child items like “15000 – 25000” etc.
The URL should be like this:
but instead it is just like this:
This is normal behaviour when you register a custom taxonomy because WordPress sets the “hierarchical URLs” value to FALSE by default.
This can not be changed or influenced in the permalinks section in the admin dashboard.
But there is a different solution which is explained here: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/a/344289/172709
I believe the solution in the link above also explains how this can be changed with the functions.php in the child theme.
Please take a look at the link above and tell me if there is anything I can add to the functions.php of my child theme to enable hierarchical URLs for the custom taxonomies.
Thanks and best regards!
